Young Innovators Programme is an outstanding, forward-thinking initiative by the Kerala Government. It successfully bridges the gap between academic learning and industry needs. For any student in Kerala, whether a curious middle-schooler or a graduating engineer, YIP provides one of the safest, most supportive environments to experiment, fail, learn, and ultimately build solutions for the future.

I was fortunate to act as the resource person for multiple sessions of YIP witnessing young bright minds present their ideas on various science related topics. This platform allows them to nourish new habits as well as ignite their curious minds to learn and think out of the box from their schooling days itself. Happy to be part of the journey. Thank you.

Being part of YIP (Young Innovators Program) by Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council has been an amazing and inspiring experience for both students and faculty members. What makes YIP truly special is the energy, creativity, and confidence it brings out in young minds. It is not just a program, it is a movement that makes students believe that their ideas can actually create change in society. YIP gives students a powerful platform to think differently, identify real-life problems, and openly express their innovative ideas without fear. Many students who never imagined themselves as innovators or entrepreneurs start gaining confidence through this platform. The mentorship, funding opportunities, expert guidance, and support for prototype development motivate students to transform simple ideas into real products, startups, patented solutions, and impactful businesses. One of the most exciting aspects of YIP is the way it encourages students to look around and identify social challenges, community issues, and departmental problems that people face in everyday life. Instead of learning only from textbooks, students start observing society with curiosity and responsibility. They begin asking questions, finding gaps, and exploring solutions in the areas they are genuinely passionate about. That shift in mindset is truly powerful. For educational institutions also, YIP has become a wonderful opportunity to identify students with creativity, leadership, and innovative thinking. It helps colleges build a stronger innovation culture and startup ecosystem on campus. Students who were once silent in classrooms suddenly become active thinkers, team leaders, presenters, and problem-solvers. The transformation is beautiful to witness. As a young faculty member, one of the best experiences through YIP is interacting with this new generation of dreamers and innovators. Their ideas, perspectives, and bold thinking often surprise and inspire us as educators too. YIP creates a collaborative environment where faculty members and students can brainstorm together, learn from each other, and work towards turning dreams into practical solutions that can create real impact. Overall, YIP is creating a new wave of innovation among the youth of Kerala. It is building confidence, creativity, teamwork, problem-solving ability, and entrepreneurial spirit among students in a truly engaging and energetic way. Programs like this are shaping not just innovators, but future changemakers of society.
